The 2010 edition of our Winter Running Snowshoe Festival here in the State of Utah provided another great day with our 3rd of almost perfect weather and everyone had a lot of fun. Between the 5 events, the 50K, Marathon, 25K, 10K and 5k we had a record of 80 finishers. Again in 2011, we are one of the 5 events Kahtoola Sponsors Nation Wide as part of there series.

This event this year will be held the week after the Utah Outdoor Retailers Show held in Salt Lake City. Our Partner and Title Sponsor, Kahtoola, will be demoing there inovative snowshoe Flight System to the retailers and the public at this event. They will have there flight system's for everyone to try. The race is not limited to just there snowshoe. Any snowshoe is allowed or any kind of traction system. To be elegible for the overall awards in each event, though, Snowshoes are required for the entire distance.

HOST HOTEL : Hampton Inn & Suites. The hotel has a heated pool, Jacuzzi, banquet facilities and continental breakfast. It is Located at 851 West 1250 South, Orem - across the street from Utah Valley University (UVU) and right next to the freeway. It is easy to find right off of exit 269 from I-15. It is about a 50 minute drive to the start. We have been given a special rate/per room of $89 a night. We have reserved a block of rooms. COURSE: Each course with it's corresponding loops will start and finish at the Visitor's Center. All loops will run in a counter-clockwise direction.

5K, 10K and 25K - 9:00 AM START:
The 5K Course will be just one loop on the golf course which will have about 250 feet of elevation gain and loss.
The 10K Course will be the same as the 10K loop used for the marathon and 50K.
The 25K will be a 10K loop followed by a 5K loop and then one more 10K loop. The 10K course is shown on the 50K map which is linked below

Marathon and 50K - 8:00 AM START: The 50K Course as of right now will consist of a series of loops using a 10K golf course loop and a 5K mountain loop in the following order...
golf, mtn, golf, golf, mtn, golf. The Marathon course will be very similar
Each Golf course loop has about 880 feet of climb and loss and the 5K Mountain loop has about 1100 feet of climb and loss

Aid, Cut off times and drop bags : 5K event Aid stations; there will be one at about the 2 mile mark. 50K & 26.2 event will use this same aid station and pass through it again at about mile 5 on the 10K course. the 5K mtn loop will just have the aid at the start/finish area which will also be used for all loops on the 50K Marathon course.

CUT OFF TIME for the 50K will be 9 1/2 hours. Marathon 7 1/2 Hours

DROP BAGS: There will be a tented area outside the visitor center that you will be able to retrieve your drop bags from after each loop.
